Esperanza “Espy” Diaz Briscoe is the founding partner of Diaz Briscoe Medina and leads the firm’s insurance defense practice group. She began her career as a young lawyer in New Orleans, Louisiana where she initially practiced as a plaintiffs’ attorney handling a wide variety of matters in trials, appeals and international arbitration. After three successful years of practice she was recruited by a prestigious defense firm where she specialized in the defense of asbestos claims against shipyards and product manufacturers as well as insurers and commercial entities. In 1997, Ms. Briscoe moved back to Miami where she has remained an ardent trial attorney and has successfully defended domestic and international insurers and commercial entities in lawsuits throughout the State of Florida.

Ms. Briscoe has over 26 years of trial experience in State, Federal and Administrative courts involving a wide variety of matters, including first and third party insurance defense, coverage, commercial litigation, product liability, premises liability and construction defect litigation. Her proven ability to simplify complex matters for jurors has resulted in numerous defense verdicts in favor of her esteemed clients and has led to her selection as an educational speaker at numerous industry association conferences and functions.
