Ashley Askari is an associate at Diaz Briscoe Medina. Ms. Askari’s practice is focused on first-party insurance defense. Prior to joining Diaz Briscoe Medina, Ms. Askari worked as a trial attorney with the Miami Dade Public Defender’s Office. During her four years as an Assistant Public Defender, Ms. Askari investigated a wide range of cases, successfully argued constitutional, evidentiary, and procedural motions, and litigated more than 25 cases to verdict. In 2014, Ms. Askari was awarded “Best Advocate” at the state-wide Public Defender College.
Ms. Askari graduated with her B.A. in Political Science in 2007 from Austin College before going on to serve two years as a national service volunteer with AmeriCorps. Ms. Askari earned her juris doctorate from The George Washington University Law School in 2012 where she focused her education in the area of litigation. Ms. Askari interned with the trial division of the Public Defender Service for Washington, DC, and argued before the Maryland Court of Special Appeals as a student attorney.
